Rattler Sports Report - October 3, 2007 - Volleyball wins 10th in district

The Reagan Volleyball team may look like they are breezing through the district schedule but what looks to be easy victories; is actually a team on a mission.  After dropping their only district contest to rival Churchill earler this year the Rattlers have been one of the best squads in the San Antonio area.  Just last week the Rattlers avenged that one loss by droping Churchill, and after last nights 3 set victory over Roosevelt the Rattlers moved their record to 10-1 in district play and an incredible 23-4 overall on the season.  With the playoffs just a few short weeks away the Ratters only have a few more questions that need to be answered.  Who will they play in the first round and how far can this team go.  Both of those questions will be answered in the coming weeks.  Reagan plays again Friday night at Littleton Gym against Madison and has just 5 more regular season matches before the playoffs start on October 26th.

Rattler Sports Report - Sept. 29, 2007 - Football Game Update

At 5-0 Reagan is now deep into uncharted territory.  Never have the Rattlers had a start to a season like this.  Reagan finished off Roosevelt Saturday night by a 17-7 margin.  The Rattlers pilled up over 300 yards of total offence, and held Roosevelt’s star running back at bay for most of the evening.  Marcus Wright moved into 3rd on the all time San Antonio area rushing yards list with 4,838.  Derrick Walls had one of his better games at QB this season against Roosevelt.  But all of that is history as the Rattlers now have to focus on one thing and that's the area number one team Madison Mavericks.  This Saturday Reagan at 5-0 takes on 5-0 Madison in a showdown of the areas best teams.  Last year the teams lit up the score board and Reagan came from way back and almost won the game.  This year Reagan will be looking for revenge against the Mavs, and will have their hands full.  Last year Jr. running back Devin Thomas for Madison broke the city single game rushing record against the Rattlers.  This year he is back and you know Coach Wetzel will have the defense concentrating on stopping number 26.  Madison will defiantly have their hands full as well as Reagan Marcus Wright will be running wild against the Mav defenders.  Get your tickets at the school, and join the Rattler Nation at what should be one of the biggest games of the year.

Name Change for Stone Oak Parkway

If you have heard  the rumors that Stone Oak Parkway, east of US Hwy 281 is having a name change, you heard right.  The issue has been up for discussion ever since the Cibolo Canyons Development, TPC PGA Golf Course and Lady Bird Johnson High School have been planned for the intersection of Bulverde Road and Stone Oak Parkway.

According to a spokesperson at the District 9 Councilman's office,. Stone Oak Parkway will change its name to TPC Parkway as of May 2008, if the City Council votes favorably next month.  The name change is just for the extension from US Hwy 281 to where it intersects with Bulverde Road.  Currently, Stone Oak Parkway doesn't go all the way through but thanks to the Cibolo Canyons Development, NEISD and the City of San Antonio, a shared partnership will help to fund this seven million dollar street extension project.

Community Alert!

This was a community alert sent out by some of the neighborhood associations.  Please read it and make yourself aware of the picture attached.

Dear Volunteers,

Please note.......this is not to scare anyone. I just want each and every volunteer (and any friends or family you may have) to be  aware and be on the lookout for this individual. I ran this by our former VIP Officer, Detective Snow, who now works in Sex Crimes, and he confirmed this is for real. This bad guy is out on bond so if you see him please call 9-1-1 immediately. Make sure you have your doors and windows properly secured and remind your kids/grandkids not to answer the door unless you know exactly who it is. His current ploy is in neighborhoods with brush pickup. If you have brush pickup in your neighborhood be aware this is going on. At the same time be aware he may change tactics/approach so be aware of your surroundings. His picture is shown above,  so please look at it carefully so you will recognize him if you spot him. Remember be smart, be aware, be safe!!!

G-Town comes to San Antonio on Saturday night.  Comalander Stadium will be the place to be Saturday night as your Rattlers will be taking on the Georgetown Eagles in Football.  Last year,  Reagan traveled up I-35 and won their first game of the  season in a driving rain, with a 13-9 victory.  This year, the weather should be nice but hopefully the outcome will be the same for the Rattlers.
