To mark the recent completion of a lengthy construction project, the community is invited to a day-long celebration at the newly remodeled H-E-B Plus near Loop 1604 and Blanco Road.  A former H-E-B, the new 141,000-square-foot store received Plus status with the expansion of its grocery selection and the addition of numerous departments.

Students and Faculty Spend Day in a Wheelchair to Promote Inclusivity

Fourteen students and faculty at Stone Oak Elementary School will spend a day in a wheelchair the last week of November – taking the “Strother Challenge.” The event was named by Strother Norman, an 11-year-old who lost his mobility at age 5 after a car accident. He created and implemented the “Strother Challenge” program at his elementary school in Fort Worth to give others a glimpse into the life of a person with a disability.

Breaking Bread with Ray

Christian Assistance Ministry is hosting an incredible lunch and learn with author and pastor Ray Vander Laan. Ray’s 40 year preaching and teaching ministry is focused on understanding the Bible in light of the historical and cultural context in which God places it. He will be sharing a lesson on scripture that references the command to leave grain that falls when harvesting and to intentionally not cut the corners during harvest; save them for the poor.

Christian Assistance Ministry Seeks Donations to Help Families in Need during Holiday Season

CAM provides an incredible way for you to give back; from October 15th through November 15th, we will be collecting food items that will provide to the over 1,000 individuals that pass through our doors weekly. Acceptable donations include: canned goods, rice, beans, box stuffing and frozen turkeys. Today officials from CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and The Children's Hospital of San Antonio,Trammel Crow Company (TCC) and Seavest celebrated a groundbreaking for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Health Pavilion - Stone Oak. The three-story, 60,000 square foot medical office building is located at 1434 East Sonterra Boulevard.

Gina Ryder's fourth grade class at Stone Oak Elementary School set a goal last fall to donate all of the points earned through the Think Through Math online program to a non-profit organization. The students earned over 250,000 points equaling a $50.00 donation to the "No Kid Hungry" campaign.
