Isabella Aquino of Canyon Ridge Elementary School was selected as the 3rd grade winner for her division in the inaugural Day of Remembrance Art Contest, hosted by the Scobee Education Center.  The contest honors those who lost their lives while furthering the cause of exploration and discovery.

The quick response of two Vineyard Ranch Elementary staff members saved a student’s life. While monitoring the cafeteria during lunch time, Bernardino Aguilar and Josefina Villasenor were alerted to a student that was choking. Both employees immediately went to the student’s side and identified that the student was choking and in need of help. Bernardino and Josefina took action immediately and performed the Heimlich Maneuver on the student and were successful in dislodging the food.

The 85th Texas Legislative Session is in full swing and the Johnson HS PTSA Smart Driving Club was back again in Austin to do their part to help advocate for the passage of a state wide law to ban texting and driving.
