North Central Baptist Celebrates 30 Years of Service to the Stone Oak Community

It was not so long ago that the Stone Oak area was little more than ranch land. Cattle grazed on the hills now covered by rooftops. Visionaries knew future residents would need access to exceptional, convenient medical care and planned accordingly. North Central Baptist hospital opened in 1991 at its 520 Madison Oak Drive location.

The hospital will celebrate is 30th anniversary and recognize staff commitment to care throughout the COVID pandemic on Wednesday, Oct. 27, from 10 – 11 a.m., in the hospital’s main atrium. Several staff members who have remained employed by the hospital from its beginning will be honored for their 30+ years of dedication. Food trucks and activities will add to the festivities.

“Staff, administrators and community leaders want to recognize North Central Baptist’s dedication to the Stone Oak Community, and especially during the COVID pandemic, when they created COVID units and added beds to ensure excellent care for some of the community’s sickest patients,” says hospital spokesperson Natalie Gutierrez. “Staff continue working to save lives. We want to recognize their compassion and ‘never-give-up’ spirit.”

The hospital’s professional staff are proud to serve Stone Oak’s 45,000 residents with its expanding programs of care including:

  •  An Emergency Department just for kids, staffed with dedicated pediatric nurses and physicians. The Baptist Children’s Hospital’s patient satisfaction scores are consistently above the 90th percentile.
  • The Baptist Orthopedic Hospital is nationally recognized for its orthopedic surgical care and rehabilitation programs.
  • The only Breast Center in the San Antonio area nationally accredited by the Program for Breast Centers. The center includes unique resources such as a breast care navigator who personally guides patients through care and genetic counseling.
  • Labor and delivery services with large, comfortable private suites and the highest level of neonatal care in the area. Patient navigators dedicated to labor and delivery provide a concierge experience to new mothers and their babies.

North Central Baptist will continue to provide cutting-edge, consistent care to keep the Stone Oak community safe and healthy in the decades to come.
