Reagan Boys Baseball Advances in Playoffs

Ronald Reagan Boys Varsity Baseball once again advances in 6A playoff contention to Region Quarterfinals. The Rattlers beat Buda Hays in area playoff contention and will face Austin Westlake in round three of the playoffs.

The first game is scheduled for this Thursday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m., at the North East Sports Park.  The team will travel to Westlake on Friday for a second game at 7:30 p.m.  If needed, the teams will face each other again in San Antonio at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Reagan has been to the 6A State Championship for the last two years, and three times in the last five, said Terry Caven, Diamondbacker baseball team representative.

“This young team has high hopes to return to the State Championship in Round Rock for a third year in a row.  It won’t be easy but hopefully the rattlers are up for the challenge,” Terry said.

Johnson High School also advanced and will play Lake Travis this weekend.  If the two teams continue to overcome their next round of opponents, the cross-281 rivals could end up facing each other June 1 in Regional Finals to vie for the chance to play for the State Title.
