Rattler Baseball Heads to State

Ronald Reagan High School baseball will make the 98-mile journey back to the Del Diamond Stadium in Round Rock Friday, June 8, to play in the UIL State Tournament. The Rattlers (36-7) will face Cypress Ranch (32-8-2) at 7 p.m. The winner will play the victor of South Lake Carroll (33-6) vs Conroe The Woodlands (25-14-1) at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 9.
Expectations are high, as the 2017 State finalist team, coached by Chans Chapman, returned 11 lettermen, including 8 starters. Look for senior outfielder Ben Sanchez, a baseball commit to Western Texas College, and pitcher Travis Stehle, who has caught the eye of many with his 90+ mph fastball and presence at the plate.
Since coming to Reagan in 2004 as the head baseball coach, Chapman's teams have won 7 district championships, made 3 regional final trips and appeared in the state tournament in 2014. In 2014 Reagan won their first regional title and finished as the state runner-up in 5AAAAA. That team ranked in the top 25 in the country in Max Preps rankings. Chapman was named SA Express-News Coach of the Year in 2014
