Missing Man’s Body Found – Scott Mayer “No Longer With Us”

Scott Mayer, well-known select baseball coach and NEISD employee missing since May 2, has been found dead, according to the Facebook page "Find Scott Mayer."

A spokesperson for the Comal County Sheriff's Office confirmed a body matching that of Mayer was found Saturday morning during a search in Bulverde. A vehicle was also found nearby that matched the description of the last vehicle that Mayer was seen driving. The search crews made the discovery around 10:45 a.m. on the 1100 block of Circle Acres Drive in Bulverde, which is just off Texas Highway 46 and not far from Guadalupe River State Park

Law enforcement says that an autopsy has been ordered to confirm that the body is Mayer and that no foul play is suspected.

The 47-year-old was well known within the Texas baseball community as a coach for the South Texas Sliders, a premier select youth baseball team.

A spokeswoman for North East Independent School District released the following statement:

"The NEISD family was heartbroken to learn the news about Scott. This is such a tremendous loss for the entire community and he will be greatly missed. He made such a positive impact on so many people’s lives and his legacy will live on. During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Scott’s wife, girls, and his entire family."

Please continue to keep his family in your prayers as they will need them more than ever now. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for posting flyers, reaching out, driving all over, searching, donating, and, mostly, praying,” was posted on the Find Scot Mayer Facebook page.
