Hardy Oak Elementary Students Share Hope with Cancer Patients

Hardy Oak Elementary School students visited North Central Baptist Jan. 20, to encourage cancer patients and their families.   Several dozen of the 3rd-5th grade members of the school’s Got HOPE club took time on a Saturday morning to spread cheer by providing hot chocolate and snacks in the hospital’s main lobby.

The Got HOPE Club was originally started at Reagan High School several years ago to honor and support fellow students battling cancer.   Hardy Oak Elementary developed their branch in honor of a Hardy Oak classmate who was diagnosed with cancer, according to North East Independent School District representatives.

The club’s mission is to encourage and support other children with cancer and their families.  Hardy Oak counts 45 students who spread hope throughout the Stone Oak community.
