Young NCBH Patients take a Spin in Child-Sized MINI Coopers

When you’re a youngster, the idea of having surgery at a hospital can be a very scary one. The team at MINI Cooper of San Antonio, a Principle Auto dealership, wanted to do something about this, by turning the dreaded walk to the surgery area into a fun, drive-time experience.

On Friday, MINI Cooper of San Antonio (a Principle Auto dealership) will deliver four electric, child-sized MINI Coopers to North Central Baptist Hospital. The Coopers will be offered to patients in the hospital’s fourth floor pediatric department on the day of their surgeries. The little ones will then have their worries lessened as they jump behind the wheel and drive the vehicle down to the first floor of the hospital.

MINI Cooper of San Antonio (a Principle Auto dealership) chose North Central Baptist Hospital for the donation of vehicles in recognition of the strength of the hospital’s pediatrics program, which provides comprehensive pediatric care by well-trained pediatricians specializing in expert children's medical care. North Central Baptist Hospital is committed to providing children with a positive experience and the highest quality of care with compassionate, kid-friendly staff who understand that a child's emotional health is just as important as their physical one. The hope is that any anxiety experienced by young patients on the day of their surgery is instead replaced with a sense of fun and adventure.
