Tuscany Heights, Cibolo Green awarded for design

Two of North East ISD’s newest elementary schools were recently selected for Architectural Awards of Excellence through the 2011 Texas Association of School Administrators and Texas Association of School Boards School Architectural competition. Tuscany Heights Elementary at 25001 Wilderness Oak received honors for design and educational appropriateness. Cibolo Green Elementary at 24315 Bulverde Green was awarded for design, educational appropriateness, value, process of planning, innovation and sustainability.
Both projects will be on display during the TASA/TASB Joint Annual Convention in Austin Sept. 30-Oct. 2. The annual convention is the largest training event in Texas, regularly attended by more than 6,000 public school board members and chief administrators.
Tuscany Heights Elementary broke ground in January 2009 and opened at the start of the 2010-11 school year. The $32 million, 124,096-square-foot campus was designed by PBK Architects and built by Bartlett Cocke General Contractors.
Cibolo Green Elementary broke ground in October 2008 and was completed by May 2010. The $31 million, 122,634-square-foot campus was designed by Pfluger Associates Architects and built by Satterfied & Pontikes Construction.
