Mother's Day is Sunday! Plenty of gift ideas here...

It’s 7 a.m. Get the kids up and dressed after 14 rounds of “I’m tired” and “No, you can’t wear that.”  Make breakfast, change a diaper, pack a few lunches.  Break up three fights and apply one band-aid.  Locate the phone (pantry) and car keys (toy box).  Yell “Hurry up!  You’re going to be late!!” at least a dozen times. Yell “Stop trying to put lipstick on the cat!” even more times.  Check homework, wipe noses, find a missing shoe, examine the missing tooth.  Listen to 32 consecutive Knock! Knock! jokes.  Silently curse whoever developed the Knock! Knock! joke.  Repair a broken shoelace.  Repair a broken heart.  Time: 7:15 a.m.  

Sadly, this is the easy part of yet another long day in the life of a mother.  We, according to some statistics, clock 96-hour work weeks with no vacations, overtime or sick leave.  We are caregivers, housekeepers, laundry attendants, hairdressers, cooks, psychologists, teachers, managers, bankers, nurses, coaches, referees and drill sergeants all rolled into one multi-tasking machine.  We’re tired quite frankly.  And, yes, we deserve some pampering.

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13.  We’ll love to hear “Thank you,” but will have no problem accepting flowers, candy, a fancy breakfast or a long, relaxing massage.  Additional gift ideas and Mother’s Day specials in and around the Stone Oak area are below.
