A day for driving!
I decided that this year is the year that I embrace the brilliant technology that has been developed to bring people together over long distances. I have had a few online meetings with clients and colleaugues but, face time is still something that some people need. So off I go to Dallas for 24 hours. 625 mile roundtrip. 2 clients - 1 prospect and a few faxes and we all make money. I love what I do for a living.
Eating was a little testy for me. The usual symptoms of road tripping happen as I set off north bound on I-35. There is nothing good for you to eat while traveling. I packed some spinach and turkey sausages, turkey burgers and some hummus. I started off the day with eggs only with my USANA Essentials, HOT ROX and coffee. I set out on the road at about 10am.
I stopped for gas at Onion Creek just south of Austin and grabbed some jerkey, chile-lime peanuts and a Diet Coke. Claudia has been on a mission this year not to partake in the unnatural substance of diet sodas nor sweetners like Splenda. She has done well and has begun to use Stevia as a sweetner for her coffee. There is a new brand of Stevia named Truvia that we have been seeing commercials on TV. Our HEB does not carry Truvia yet. Claudia doesn’t need a lot of sweetness for her coffees BUT I DO. I tried Stevia and couldn’t get my coffee sweet enough. I don’t drink it that sweet but I need a little bit.
Good decisions are key to keep the hunger monster away. I ate chile-lime peanuts all the way to Big D and never had the craving to pull over and drive thru one of the many Taco Bell, Burger King, Mickey D’s or What-a-Burger ( I shouldn’t put What-a-Burger in that group but I have a huge weakness for No. 1’s w/cheese).
My dinner was sparse with a turkey burger and a few leaves of spinach at 7pm. My last meeting was with clients at around 8:30pm. So I didn’t need to eat again.
At 10pm I headed to the gym at my office and rode the bike while watching some cable shows for about a 45 minutes. It was nothing hard and I enjoyed the little bit of glistening sweat on my skin.
A good day for me altogether.
