After somewhat sleepwalking through the first half the Rattlers turned up the heat after halftime and player Reagan football for the final two stanzas.  With the game tied at the halfway point there was a buzz in the stands as the homecoming king and queen were announced.  But it was not the surprise of the homecoming court it was the surprise of the scoreboard.  Reagan came out after half and after two plays Marcus Wright raced down the near sideline and score yet another touchdown.  After that score it was the defensive unit turn to shine.  Holding Lee to the three and out and then recording a safety on a bad punt attempt by the Vols, the Rattlers started to pull away.  Fullback Nathan Dawson would add a couple of TDs and back up QB Josh York would also find the end zone before the night was over.  After the game Coach Wetzel reminded the boys they DO have school tomorrow and next Thursday is a Big game for the Rattlers.  Smithson Valley comes to town and the Rangers will be looking to settle a score from last year.  This time last year the Rattlers were struggling to make the playoffs and were in a must win situation heading to Smithson Valley.  In what is one of the biggest upsets in 26-5A history the Rattlers beat the Rangers on their own field.  That win vaulted the Rattlers into the playoffs and eventually to the Region championship.  This year the stakes are not as great as the Rattlers have all but wrapped up a spot in the post season and the Rangers too.  But Thursday night Comalander stadium will be packed and the place will be going crazy for some good old Texas High School Football.
