Rattler Sports Report - October 6, 2007 - Rattler Football Goes Down to Madison 42-14

While we were planning on recapping the game and the way the Rattlers fought to the bitter end but were just out classed by a tremendous Madison Maverick team; we thought it might be more important to take some time to pause and reflect.  Tonight Madison's star running back, Devin Thomas was injured in the 4th quarter and left the game on a stretcher with an apparent leg injury.  You can't be a High School football fan in San Antonio and not know about Devin Thomas.  The rivalry between Thomas and our own Marcus Wright has been well documented, even though they are good friends in real life.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Devin, his family and the Madison community.  Injuries happen in this game but when such a talent goes down it hurts the overall quality of all of the area teams play.  While we are dedicated to our own Reagan Rattlers and will back them as they make their way to the playoffs, tonight we will take a moment to reach out to our friends to the southeast in Orange and Blue.  Next week we will be back with more updates and photos but tonight we post a photo of a young man that needs all of our strength and prayers.  Good luck to the Rattlers as they try and put this night behind them and get ready for the Wagner Thunderbirds next Friday night back at Comalander stadium.  Wagner, who just won its first District 26-5A game two week ago, will come into the game hungry for another win.  We will be back with more photos and updates as the Rattlers push to the playoffs. - Shooter
