Horseback Riding on the Horizon in Stone Oak

At the Stone Oak POA Advisory Committee meeting Wednesday, the proposed development of the Diamond T Ranch was unveiled.  Although District 9 Councilman, Kevin Wolff was unable to attend the meeting he is quite supportive of the project which is adjacent to Stone Oak Park.  Dode Harvey, Mike Mazur and John Krause from Diamond T Partners presented their master plan that includes 50 home sites, an equestrian facility and a 20,000 square foot office/retail facility.

They envision a setting similar to Brackenridge Park where families can spend a day walking the trails, horseback riding and enjoying a meal at one of the restaurants.  In partnership with the Parks Department, they will make improvements to facilitate better access to Stone Oak Park.  The office facility will provide also provide a respite area for park and police officers.  New stables for about 40 horses will be built and Diamond T residents will have the exclusive opportunity to board horses.  Construction on the project could begin by the end of this year.

Stone Oak Park is the ideal setting to learn about the aquifer and our water resources.  Phase II of the project will include a natural amphitheater and a geological feature trail.  (The plan can be seen here.)  With this new development, you’ll have the opportunity to see this beautiful nature preserve the Texas way – on a horse.
