If you have a child in any school in the Stone Oak/Encino Park area, you more than likely have heard of the PTA (Parent Teachers Association). You might know there are dues, a beginning of the year welcome packet with many colorful pages to fill out, and meetings to attend. What you might not know, is just how important the PTA is to your child and every child that attends school.  Studies have shown that children have a greater chance of achieving in school when their parents and caregivers are involved in the PTA. With over 650,000 members across Texas, the PTA is the largest child advocacy group in the state.
