Happy Friday! Here is a heads up on some road closures for this Weekend

Friday May 10

 • Loop 1604 eastbound exit ramp to Gold Canyon and the left lane which includes the turnaround bridge will be closed from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Crews will perform final project inspection. • Loop 1604 westbound exit ramp to US 281 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Crews will perform punch list activities for project closeout

Free Concert at Gigi's Cupcakes this Sunday

YMCA to Host Weekend-Long Open House May 17-May 19

Come out and enjoy all that the Y has to offer! On Friday May 17 through Sunday May 19, The YMCA of Greater San Antonio is kicking off summer 2013 with an area-wide open house. The open house is free and open to the public.

The community is invited to try out the Y's 10 health and wellness facilities located in Boerne, New Braunfels and San Antonio. Guests will have full access to the Y's state-of-the-art fitness equipment, family fun in the pool and will be able to sample exercise classes.

Stone Oak POA stresses water conservation

Stone Oak Property Owners Association officials are putting a major emphasis on water conservation, according to the San Antonio Express News.

In the POA's April newsletter, POA Property manager Meg Lorette, wrote that due to recent rains, turf irrigation has been turned off however, bubblers are running when necessary for newly planted trees.

Cornerstone Church Presents: 21st Annual Mother Daughter Banquet

Texas Student Short film "Para Ellos" seeking child actors

Do your children love to act? Texas Student Short Film is holding a casting call in San Antonio for children who are interested in playing siblings for their new student film, "Para Ellos".

Produced by, Christian Contreras, Victoria De La Torre, & Dustin Jacobs, Para Ellos, inspired by true events, is about two young siblings who embark on a journey to find their father who has set out to cross into the United States in search for better opportunities for his children.

Johnson High School's One Act Play takes Unexpected Tenderness to State

UNEXPECTED

Suzanne Martin proudly stands on the stage as she gives her students a pep talk before they run their last dress rehearsal for the week. With a clipboard in her hand, she quotes a quote from Muhammad Ali, making sure her students understand how important these last few practices are.

Martin has been the One Act Play Director for 5 years at Johnson High School, and for the first time in the schools history, they will be competing at the U.I.L State Competition in Austin,Tx. The journey to state has been a long but exciting journey.

Junior Rattlers offering conditioning camp this summer

Summer is always a great time for young athletes to improve on their skills. The Junior Rattlers, an organization associated with the Texas Youth Football and Cheer Association will be hosting a "Spring Speed and Conditioning Camp" this summer. T

his camp will be held Mondays through Thursdays starting June 17 and ending June 28th. At the camp, athletes will be doing drills that help improve their speed and agility for the upcoming fall 2013 football and cheer seasons.
