Reagan Student Returns to Basketball after Cardiac Arrest

It’s been 10 months since Reagan High School senior Kaeyel Moore shocked his basketball teammates and coaches. He collapsed suddenly during practice Jan. 9, and went into cardiac arrest. His heart had stopped, but thankfully his coach, John Hirst, and the team trainer had the presence of mind to employ the automated external defibrillator (AED) located in the gym to revive him until emergency personnel could transport him to the hospital for immediate care.

Early Voting Starts Now

The last few weeks before America’s mid-term elections have begun, and polling places opened today for early voting. The good news is that you don’t have to go to a specific polling location for early voting. You can pop in anywhere at your convenience and avoid the long lines November 6. Polling station Parman library is in Stone Oak if you’re in the neighborhood, and Encino library is situated on East Evans Road, just east of U.S. Highway 281, and a quick stop if you are out on the highway.
Johnson student up for Photo of the Year

A photo taken by Johnson High School senior Danielle Bellow is a finalist in the National Scholastic Press Association’s (NSPA) Photo of the Year contest. More than 750 photos were submitted, and Bellow’s was one of only ten finalists in the Sports Action category. The photo she submitted for competition was taken at the Johnson vs. Reagan varsity football game in 2017.
