State approves more Interstate 35 truck lane restrictions

AUSTIN * The Texas Transportation Commission approved a left-lane restriction for large trucks on portions of Interstate 35 in Bexar, Guadalupe, Comal and Hays Counties.
These restrictions would prohibit truck tractors with three or more axles from operating in the inside left lane from just south of Loop 1604 in the city of Live Oak northward to the southern city limits of San Marcos.
TxDOT worked closely with local jurisdictions along the route to develop the lane restriction and conducted a traffic study, which concluded it would be beneficial to both safety and general mobility to implement such a restriction.

Both Commissioner Lyle Larson and Commissioner Tommy Adkisson spoke to raucous applause from a very frustrated and motivated crowd last night. Both encouraged attendees to contact their legislators IMMEDIATELY to demand our raided highway funds get returned and that they STOP THE WIDESPREAD TOLLING OF TEXAS! Larson emphasized that though he’s been with us since the beginning, he has no direct oversight over TxDOT, only the Governor and Legislature do. So it’s imperative that we contact the Legislature immediately and follow-up frequently during this legislative session that ends in May.

Public Hearing for Tollroads

Posted courtesy of the SA Toll Party.com webiste

We've spent years challenging tolls on our freeways and the TTC. Our hard work is paying off. Legislators who seek real change have set a public hearing for March 1st!

This is huge! It is very important that everyone who has a concern or issue with toll roads, public private partnerships, and especially the Trans Texas Corridor attend this public hearing and if possible offer personal testimony to the Senate Committee.

This means you, your family and friends!
