The Parman Branch Library at Stone Oak is kicking off a series of iterary collaborations with UTSA.To start it off, UTSA poet-in-resident Wendy Barker will speak about her longtime passion for poetry.
Que Taco's grand opening a success

The sounds of Mariachi music filled Que Taco last Saturday. Customers and family friends of owner Pablo Labiaga came to help celebrate the grand opening of his restaurant "Que Taco". While at the grand opening, Que Taco was giving away free tacos for customers.
YMCA Hosts Job Fair this Wednesday

The YMCA of Greater San Antonio will be hosting a job fair at the Thousand Oaks Family YMCA, located at 16101 Henderson Pass, on Wednesday, May 15 from 4-8 pm.
The Y provides both full-time and part-time benefits for staff members including:The YMCA Retirement Plan, advancement opportunities, free citywide Y membership, discounts on Y services and programs and a staff wellness plan.
Over 200 part-time, full-time and seasonal positions are available at YMCA locations across San Antonio, Boerne, Schertz and New Braunfels.
Blood Drive this Saturday (May 11) at Green Fields Market

Roll up those sleeves and come out and help save a life. Green Fields Market will be hosting a Blood Drive on May 11 from 9 a.m-12 p.m
The South Texas Blood & Tissue Center will have a van and crew in the parking lot of Green Fields Market. The center will be collecting an adequate amount of blood to supply over 100 hospitals and clinics located in 43 South Texas counties, including Bexar County.
The blood collected from donors will be used for cancer patients, open-heart surgery patients, diabetics, recipients of organ or tissue transplant, and trauma victims.

Hardy Oak Elementary holds Walk-A-Thon to raise money for campus track

The sun creeps out of the dark clouds Friday morning just in time for students to walk around a make-shift track outside of Hardy Oak Elementary. With a walkie-talkie in her hand, Assistant Principle, Beth Marrow watches and smiles as the students go up to a volunteer to get their blue lap cards signed as they finish a lap.
